Kazuya Tojigamori (東寺ヶ森 一矢, Tōjigamori Kazuya), often referred to as "Toji" (とーじ, To ̄ji), is one of the main love interests of Momo Adachi in Peach Girl.

Appearance[]

Toji is somewhat tall with short, light hair (usually depicted as light brown; gray hair in the anime) and brown eyes.

Though he has several different outfits throughout the series, he is usually seen in his school uniform which consists of a white collared shirt, black pants, and brown shoes. During the colder months, his school uniform also includes a blue long-sleeved sweater above the shirt.

Personality[]

Overall, Toji is a kindhearted and thoughtful boy who wants to help others above all else, to the point of putting the needs of others before his own. He is generally quiet and serious, but when around someone he's comfortable with, he's noticeably more outgoing.

Though, Toji can be very naïve and often is not aware when others are taking advantage of his kindness, and he tends to believe the first thing he hears rather than waiting to find out more information.

Biography[]

Prior to Peach Girl[]

During middle school, Toji focuses most of his energy on baseball, but becomes close friends with Momo Adachi.

Peach Girl: Sae's Story[]

Toji only makes an appearance in the bonus chapter "Just One Wish". He gives Sae and Momo some perspective towards guys' feelings regarding sex and rejection. This encourages Momo to go after and apologize to Kairi.

Relationships[]

Momo Adachi[]

Momo is Toji's friend from junior high school and later girlfriend.

Sae Kashiwagi[]

Sae is Toji's classmate and close friend and often his confidant for the first arc of the series. After realizing what Sae has been doing to Momo, the two grow distant until Sae blackmails Toji into dating her.

Kairi Okayasu[]

Toji's classmate who tends to get on his nerves, especially when it comes to his relationship to Momo.

Etymology[]

  • The name Kazuya means "arrow/one arrow" (一矢).
  • Kazuya's surname Tojigamori means "east" (東) (to), "temple" (寺) (ji) and "forest" (森) (mori).

Trivia[]

  • Due to the uncommon kanji used in Toji's name, in Tokyopop's translation of Peach Girl, they romanize Toji's name as "Kazuya Tojikamori."
  • In volume 13 of Tokyopop's translation of Peach Girl, Toji's full name is accidentally written as "Toji Tojikamori."
